Hi,
I don't recomend to checkout main branch from CVS. It's developer,
unstable, and I think may not work just now. Instead of this use branch
rel_0_9_2 which is the latest stable:

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous at cvs.serweb.berlios.de:/cvsroot/serweb co -r
rel_0_9_2 serweb

Or download tarbal from ftp:
ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/ser/0.9.4/contrib/serweb-0.9.4.tar.gz

Debian users can also put the following URL in their /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://apt.sip-router.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
deb-src http://apt.sip-router.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free

We have packages for all three distributions, users of testing or
unstable releases can simply replace stable with testing and/or unstable.

Karel
