Martin,

with current stable version you can do
    avp_write("$hdr[Remote-Party-ID]","i:11");
    if  ( avp_check("i:11","re/rex_exp") ) {
    }

this is more efficient that doing a regexp over the entire message.

also note that none of the approaches will work if the RPID was added 
locally and not received.
